Artist's Comments

A mermaid located at a public shrine to the Roman god of the sea. Seems as though the old gods still endure.

Wonderful capture. The colour of the stonework against the dark background really brings out is details, and the light behind as it crests over the top illuninating the face is superb. Was this taken at night?
Well done! :+fav:

I spent a good hour trying to get the angle and lighting just right :) My hands were hovering close to the tripod just in case it was about to tip into the fountain! I'm glad you like how the lighting came out; I've been trying to better understand how it works.

'preciate your words.

Many kind thanks, M'lady, I appreciate it :) I'm glad with how the lighting came out while still holding onto some of the statue's grainy texture.
:icondirehaggis:
Thank you! I've been trying to work more on lighting recently, seeing how it reflects and blends with other lights :)

It's my first 'human' model, I'm glad I did her justice, thank you :D I spent an hour or so trying to get the angle and lighting just right.

Time to return the favor...
